Berettyóújfalu: Music and English

With help from our friends with the International Mission Board and a short-term missions team from Ouachita Baptist University we had our first concert at the Berettyóújfalu Orphanage.  Through popular songs, personal testimony, and drama the team was able to share the love of Christ with the kids.  This particular event was a bit different from past events.  Instead of bringing the entire orphanage together we kept this to a more intimate event, and visited only the 2 houses that interns Edy & Kara Fulop visit on a weekly basis.  The weekly visits include English conversation lessons, homework assistance, and Bible Story time.

English Lesson: At The Airport

At GoodSports we believe that learning is most effective when accompanied by two specific elements: practicality and FUN!

With help from fellow missionaries and friends we took over a local High School's English classes for the day!  A total of 19 Americans ran the students through an Airport Scenario.

Using only the English language the students had to purchase a ticket, navigate through security, bargain at the Duty-Free shop, board the plane, find their seat, listen to the in-flight safety speech, enjoy in-flight entertainment, and go through passport control & customs.

It was a fun filled day, full of practical application for the students - many of whom will be flying this summer for their family vacation.

Of Baseballs and Relationships

The Goodsports Baseball field is shaping up nicely.  Josh and the boys have been working hard.

This past week an amazing friend to GoodSports was in town visiting.  Carol Ann, Russ, Zoli and Josh were all invited to spend an evening with one of the Mikepércs baseball families.
